To that I would say, <u>yes &#8211; if we are talking about the conventional circular economy<\/u>. But for what I have described as a<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/coopreneur.no\/index.php\/en\/towards-a-real-circular-economy\/\">real circular economy<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> the two terms are comparable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1089 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/coopreneur.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/brown_engelsk_regenerativt-300x112.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"482\" height=\"180\" \/><\/p>\n<p>G&amp;R comments on this graph from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"COST%20Action%20CA16114%20RESTORE:%20REthinking%20Sustainability%20TOwards%20a%20Regenerative%20Economy,%20Working%20Group%20One%20Report:%20Restorative%20Sustainability\">Brown et.al (editors) 2018<\/a><\/strong><\/span> as follows:<\/p>\n<div id=\"52AD2192_191A_4A25_6BDF_CC50FCFD217A\">\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><strong>\u201c\u00a0<\/strong>It is no longer enough to define being sustainable as synonymous with zero emissions, and in order to restore the planet&#8217;s health, we must to a greater extent create innovative solutions that manage to build up rather than break down.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>..In the past, it was normal to see sustainability as an equilibrium problem, where sustainable operation was defined by the fact that we &#8220;take as much as we give&#8221;. Limiting and zeroing out negative impact has long been the focus of achieving sustainable operations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>In this context, a sustainable company has ambitions for climate neutrality, where the bad and the good hopefully balance each other out. For example, companies such as Equinor and SAS have ambitions to become more sustainable by reaching this equilibrium point by 2050.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Today, it is no longer the case that companies exclusively yearn to achieve this point of equilibrium, and more are therefore moving towards a restorative mindset. Here, the focus is to a greater extent on doing more good than harm.
